Raúl García is one of the most promising directors in Puerto Rico due to his innovative visual style. Raúl was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 31, 1975. Since childhood, his passion was cinema. In 1995, while he began his bachelor's degree at the Universidad Del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan, García began working his first TV movie 'Impacto Mortal'. Realized in video format with students, and without any budget, the movie got the interest of one of the main television channels for that time, channel 11 TeleOnce. 'Impacto Mortal' debuted on the small screen in 1998, obtaining favorable reviews and obtained the second place in rating that night . In 1999 García completed his bachelor's degree in Television and Film Production and after graduating he started the production of his second TV Film with Budget, and action and espionage drama 'Complot' . The movie premiered on September 27, 1999 and broke audience record placing it in the first place of viewers preference in the month and night of its premiere. 'Complot' is considered one of the most ambitious Puerto Rican TV films in production and special effects. In the year 2000 the TV film 'The 7th Angel' became his third feature film project and his first movie in the horror genre. It premiered on television on October 30, 2000 and was again the number one movie in audience across the Island. The 7th Angel was chosen to participate in the New York International Film and Video Film Festival 2001 and that same year Garcia directed and co-wrote the short film entitled 'Premonition', which was awarded the First Prize at the E-Cinevideo Short Film Festival 2001, sponsored by Artisan Entertainment the same company that buy the rights of The movie 'The Blair Witch Project'. García continued to make more short films such as 'Premonition', selected as the winner of the Internet Short Film Festival 2001 in San Juan and 'Signaling Home' chosen to participate in the Belize Film Festival 2001. In the year 2008 Raúl began the production of his next feature film: 'Caos', a 'Guerilla' production which culminated 3 years later. CAOS also made with very small budget debuted on the big screen on September 30, 2010, presented in 12 movie theaters in all of Puerto Rico and on television through the Univisión Puerto Rico network. That same year Raúl directed the short film 'Pasión Cibernética' for the production house Acuarela Productions. In 2014 Raúl produced and directed his first comedy feature Film 'Una Boda en Castañer'. This feature film premiered on September 3, 2015 and became one of the most successful films in Puerto Rico in the history of local cinema, raising more than half a million dollars. 'Una Boda en Castañer' was selected to participate in the 32nd edition of the Latino Film Festival in Chicago and Cinelatino Network buy the rights for Television. In 2016 he Produce and Directed a comedy Feature Film "Pepo Pa'l Senado" under Piñolywood Studios, which was another success at the box office and was presented in Orlando, Tampa, Sandford, Kissimmee and New York. The movie was selected to participate in The Chicago Latino Film Festival 2017, San Diego Latino Film Festival 2017 and St Kitts Film Festival 2018. In 2019 Raul directed his seventh Feature film entitled 'Another Kind of I Do' sequel to the hit movie of 'A Wedding in Castañer' that was in cinemas throughout Puerto Rico in the month of August succeeding again at the box office. That same year García was one of the directors of the TV series SUBETE A MI MOTO for Amazon Prime Studios that will review the trajectory of Menudo one of the most popular Latin boy band in history. The series was filmed in Mexico and Puerto Rico and will be available on the Amazon platform by the end of 2020.
