Dean was brought up in Sale, Cheshire and attended Ashton on Mersey High School, where he and two other classmates were offered roles in Childrens' Ward. Dean attended South Trafford College, Timperley for a short while, where he played drums for a college band. Dean played a number of roles, although has been relatively unseen on screens since the turn of the Millennium.
