William Lee Golden

Longtime baritone singer with the popular country music and southern gospel quartet, the Oak Ridge Boys. Golden first joined the group in 1964 and was with the group when they made their transition to country music in the mid-1970s. Known for his "mountain man" appearance, he had a much publicized falling out with the rest of the group's members, leaving them in 1987. After his replacement, Steve Sanders, left for personal reasons in 1995, Golden rejoined the group on New Year's Eve, 1995. He is a native of Brewton, AL.
