As a multi-award winning Filmmaker working in the Feature Film, Documentary and Traditional Film Animation genres, Damien Lay has accumulated over 25 years of experience in all areas of Production and Post Production, from animating, model making, producing and script writing to film editing, directing, practical visual effects, and cinematography. The Vietnam War story, "The Battle of Long Tan", featuring Sam Worthington, remains the highest rating program on paid television in Australia. "He's Coming South" and "M24 - The Last Sunrise" resulted in the discovery of the lost WWII Japanese Midget Submarine, solving one of Australia's greatest Maritime mysteries. For the past 7 years, he has been the only foreigner in the world permitted to operate in the most highly restricted areas of Myanmar (Burma), documenting and leading multiple search and recovery operations for both the Lady Southern Cross, the world's oldest and greatest aviation mystery, and the Great Bell of King Dhammazedi, the most significant relic of the Buddhist religion, missing for over 400 years. His last project, "Semi Colin", shot and produced internationally, is a genre-bending arthouse documentary and an exploration into the reinvention of story telling through film. Damien enjoys working internationally, now dividing his time mainly between Asia, the US and Australia.
