Christian Lehmann

Christian Lehmann was born July 20, 1934 in Halbau. In 1953, he began his studies at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig , transferring after three semesters to the German Film School in Potsdam-Babelsberg, where he learned camera operation. From 1959 to 1961 he worked in the DEFA studio for documentary films .. He was involved in more than 200 films, and became one of the most well-respected documentary cinematographers in East Germany. After reunification, he continued to work in the documentary field. He is married to the editing master Bärbel Lehmann.
