Composing electronic music since the 1960s, Paul is one of the pioneers in the field. He was one of the first to use MIDI to score and do sound design for films, and his work with Steve Olenick on the History Channel's groundbreaking "Blood & Iron" was documented in two major articles in "Sound On Sound" magazine. His work with George Antheil's 1924 "Ballet Mecanique" has brought him wide acclaim, and performances all over North America and Europe. Besides his feature films, he has scored dozens of industrials, educational multimedia projects, and museum installations. He has a BFA from Purchase College in Orchestral Performance, an MA from Lesley University in Electronic Music Performance, and a PhD from Tufts University in Interdisciplinary Studies (Music Composition, Music Technology, Cinema History, and Electrical Engineering). He is Director of Music Engineering at Tufts, where he teaches composition for multimedia, recording engineering and production, computer music techniques, and electronic musical instrument design.
