Han Lei was born in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in 1962 and is a Chinese film and television actor. He graduated from the Department of Physical Education of Beijing Normal University, and later served as an actor at the legendary Emei Film Studios. His performances in the films "Our Field" and "Spring in the Fall" left a deep impression on the audience. In 1989 he was nominated for Best Actor at the Chinese Golden Rooster Awards. In 1993 he won the Best Movie award in Cannes Festival with "Farewell My Concubine". In 2018 he played alongside Michael Douglas in "Animal World".
