From there he moved to feature films working in the film cutting rooms. He always enjoyed the challenges sound presented and so moved to that department, assisting such notables as Winston Ryder and Chris Greenham, both Oscar winners for sound. When Digital technology arrived, Lewiston founded Movietrack Ltd - one of the first digital post production facilities in the UK. The projects worked on included Shiner (Michael Caine), Among Giants (Pete Postlethwaite), The Magnificent Ambersons (Madeleine Stowe, Jonathan Rhys Meyers), Sliding Doors (Gwyneth Paltrow) and, in 1996, was Emmy nominated for work on Merlin (Sam Neill, Miranda Richardson, Isabella Rossellini, Helena Bonham Carter). Lewiston then moved into film production, co-producing "Shoreditch" (Joely Richardson and Shane Ritchie) and "Charlie", a film about the notorious sixties gangster Charlie Richardson (Luke Goss). His first full producer credit was on Ernest Hemmingway's "The Garden of Eden", directed by his long time friend and associate John Irvin. Lewiston also co-wrote the screenplay. Lewiston then wrote, produced and directed "The Hot Potato". Based on a true story set in the late sixties. The film was shot on location in Belgium and the UK in 2010 and stars Ray Winstone, Colm Meany, Jack Huston, David Harewood and John Lynch.
