Rick Lord

Los Angeles born and bred, Rick attended Chatsworth High School in the early 70's. The only son of Cecil and Addy Lord, Rick moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1977 to break into the burgeoning Portland movie scene. After years of banging around in the Northwest film market, Rick founded the motion picture support company, Cinestar Grip Support Services. Since moving away from grip and lighting equipment rental, Rick has worked his way around the camera from Actor to Gaffer to Director of Photography. With over a thousand TV commercials and numerous short and independent feature films under his belt, Rick has since authored two books that deal with both, Motion Picture Lighting for Still Photography and Independent Filmmaking from a Gaffer's Perspective. As a Producer and Director of Photography, Rick now spends his time working on independent films for the ever demanding independent film market in Oregon.
