Daniel House, bass player for Seattle Grunge band Skin Yard, took over the operation of Seattle record label C/Z records in 1985. For several years C/Z was just a hobby, initially a vehicle for the first Skin Yard releases, but very quickly became an outlet for many unnoticed Seattle bands that House felt were making great music. With the emergence of the 'Grunge' explosion in the late 80s and early 90s, House found himself in the midst of a music revolution. The film, Hype! (1996) is a chronicling of that period in Seattle's music history, and features House among many others, as an interviewee/expert for the film. Other work has been his interviews for the groundbreaking VH1 series, True Spin (2004) with his illumination on the song, 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.
