Jane House (Stanford, BA; CUNY Graduate Center, PhD) has been painting and drawing since her youth but she only began sculpting in 2015. She spent many years pursing her passion for theatre and her love of language--French, Italian, and Russian. A member of Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA, she has worked professionally as an actress on Broadway, in regional theatre, on television, and in film. Long a supporter and promoter of Italian theatre, Jane co-edited, with Italian critic Antonio Attisani, 20th-Century Italian Drama: An Anthology. The First 50 Years (Columbia University Press, 1994), for which she translated numerous works. Her more recent translations appear in the six-volume Mellen Collection of Italian Theatre 1950-2001 (Edwin Mellen, 2015) and the two-volume collection of New Plays from Italy (Segal Center/TCG, 2018). She has presented many twentieth-century and contemporary Italian plays to the general public as staged readings with professional actors in Manhattan. Jane has served as a professor of theatre history, beginning acting, and oral communication at four-year colleges of the City University of New York as well as at New York University and Vassar College.
