Matthew Hotsinpiller

Matt was born in Danville, Illinois, and grew up in northern New Mexico. He was involved in drama classes in school, from elementary through college. In the 1980s, he would go to sets with his grandfather, John Barks, who acted in several of the westerns filmed in New Mexico at the time. After being cast in a Chevy Heartbeat of America commercial, alongside his mother, Matt decided to move to Los Angeles. Matt modeled and acted in the late '80s and through the '90s, appearing in many national commercials and several movies. After completing an M.A. at Saint John's College in Santa Fe (strong Tao of Steve connections), Matt began teaching English at Santa Monica College and philosophy at El Camino College. He is now in the English Department at Santa Monica College. In addition to teaching, Matt has been busy auditioning and shooting short films.
