Slim, sultry and energetic African-American dancer Gigi Hunter started her dance training in 10th grade at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. She has four brothers and three sisters. Hunter appeared in a 1984 Broadway stage production of "The Wiz." Gigi joined the cast of the immensely popular music variety TV series "Solid Gold" as a regular featured dancer in 1987 and remained on the show until the end of the final 1988 season. Following her stint on "Solid Gold" Hunter appeared as a dancer in the hit comedy "Coming to America" and was a dancer on the WWF Slammy Awards show in the late 80s. Moreover, Gigi not only popped up on episodes of the TV series "Fame," but also has small roles as a dancer in the films "Mac and Me," "Lambada," and "Dark Streets." Outside of dancing, Hunter is also a highly successful fashion designer. Gigi acquired knitting as a passionate hobby after she was taught how to knit by one of her sisters at age eight. Hunter's celebrity clients include Jasmine Guy, Jennifer Lopez, Vivica A. Fox, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Natalie Smith, Patti Labelle, Cree Summer, Halle Berry, Chante Moore, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Kim Wayans, Nicole Murphy, and Natalie Cole. In addition, Gigi's clothes have been featured in such stores as Nordstrom's, Traffic, and RICHS. More recently she appeared as herself in eight episodes of the reality TV series "I Know My Kid's a Star."
