Julie is a consumer activist and works to protect the environment and stakeholders of Los Angeles on large and controversial projects. She successfully organized the Westside community of Los Angeles, to save the Marina del Rey Hospital. She was able to use the same strategy across the country, assisting other communities in protecting their hospitals from sale or closure. She was awarded the Conrad Hilton School of Business, Social Entrepreneur Award, at Loyola Marymount University, for her leadership role in Saving Our Marina Hospital - SOMH. She coordinated the movement with both the state and federal DOJ -Department of Justice, the SEC - Securities and Exchange Commission, OIG - Office of Inspector General, FBI - Federal Bureau of Investigations, and other governmental agencies. Her work has been written up as case studies for Consumers Union, publishers of Consumers Report.
