Born in Montagano, Italy, he came to the U.S. as an 8 year old with his mother and sisters to join his father who settled here a year earlier. Excelled in sports (basketball and baseball) at St. Patrick's High School in Elizabeth, NJ. Graduated Cum Laude, and received basketball scholarship to the University of Texas at El Paso upon graduation, after having been named to All-County, All-State, and All-American Honorable Mention Selections. He completed his college career at Biscayne College in Miami, FL (now St. Thomas University) graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in English and Philosophy, and went on to play pro basketball in Italy with G.S.A. Benevento. He was inducted into the St. Patrick's High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996 and elected into the Elizabeth, NJ Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999. His interest in acting came about while teaching English and coaching varsity basketball at North Brunswick Township High School during his five years there. Bruno attended the Strasberg Theatre Institute and continued working with: Marcia Haufrecht, John Stix, John Strasberg, Michael Shurtleff, Michael Moriarity and Gordon Phillips. He's worked extensively theatrically in NYC. Some of his memorable roles include: Pale in Burn This, Salvatore in the highly acclaimed NYC premiere of The Headhunter, (both at the Common Basis Theatre); Benny in We Make a Wall, Gus in Tracon (both at the Open Door Theatre); Dom in Dog Eats Dog at the Ensemble Studio Theatre; Louis in The Gravediggers Tale (NYC Premiere at the Gene Frankel Theatre and published in Best Short Plays of 2009-Smith &Krauss); Gabriel in Valentino's Wing (Producer's workshop at the Actor's Studio). Has worked in TV and film with such esteemed directors as: Sergio Leone, Sydney Lumet, Richard Benjamin, David Platt, and with such accomplished actors as: Robert DeNiro, Tom Hanks, James Woods, Paul Sorvino, David Proval and Phil Bosco.
