Jabeen Jalil

Jabeen Jalil was great actress who was popular between 1957 to 1967.Her performances in Ragini opposite Kishore Kumar, Bedard Zamana Kya Jaane opposite Sudesh Kumar, Panchayat opposite Manoj Kumar, Batwara with Sudesh Kumar, Katil Kaun with Chandrashekar.She starred in first Hindi film addressing Christian characters in Raat Ki Rani opposite Shammi Kapoor however the film was huge flop due to editing issues as the villain was a priest and censor board edited out his full character and made the film disjointed. She also acted opposite the Filmfare Contest winner of 1960 - Suresh Puri in Rajoo (Sachai Ki Moti). She won the National award for Best Actress for her performance in Chaudhry Karnail Singh in 1960,where Prem Chopra was the hero. She agreed to act with newcomers as well as not established stars through out her career. It was Nigar Sultana and Dilip Kumar who spotted her while she was acting in her college play and suggested her to act in films. Her father died before she entered college. She came into acting with her mothers permission.
