An award-winning filmmaker with the ability to run the set with vision, efficiency, humor, and kindness, Amyn Kaderali has directed over 20 episodes of wide-ranging television, from moving hospital dramas to gritty crime sagas to suspenseful supernatural thrillers. After his Disney/ABC Directing Fellowship resulted in his first episodic directing opportunity (Private Practice), Amyn went on to direct multiple episodes of Supernatural , The Resident, Grey's Anatomy, and Walker. In addition, Amyn has directed TNT's Animal Kingdom and the CW's Charmed, The 100 and The Winchesters. A natural storyteller, Amyn has also found success as a screenwriter, penning romantic comedies such as Netflix's Holiday Calendar, Lifetime's Grounded for Christmas (which he also directed), Open By Christmas for Hallmark and GAC's A Kindhearted Christmas, A Lot Like Christmas, and Aurora Christmas. He also wrote and is attached to direct Holly Bolly Christmas for Lifetime this summer. Amyn's feature film debut, the provocative romantic comedy Kissing Cousins, won the Audience Choice Award at the Asian American Int'l Film Festival and led to opportunities in the ABC/Disney Directing Program as well as the Warner Brothers Television Directing Workshop. His filmmaking career started at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film Program, where his second-year film Little Man garnered awards worldwide, including Best Short Film at the Slamdance Film Festival. He followed this up with Take The A Train, starring Kerry Washington (Scandal) and the outsourcing comedy, Call Center, a viral Internet hit. His 2010 short film The Other Side for PBS/ITVS's Futurestates series delved into the controversial issue of illegal immigration. Since 2023, Amyn has been teaching a filmmaking class for incarcerated men at San Quentin Prison, which he finds extremely fulfilling. He is a member of the Directors Guild of America, the Writers Guild of America, and the Writers Guild of Canada.
