Matthew Kennedy was born to Walter Eugene and Mary Jane Kennedy October 17, 1971 in Lynn, Massachusetts, a city known primarily for its cemeteries, Asian gangs and arson. He attended St. Mary's Regional High School, graduating in 1989. He was a musician in a number of heavy metal bands through High School and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a music career in 1990. He was a founding member of the band Abusement Park, and performed on stage with a number of LA punk and metal bands throughout the early 90s. He worked briefly as a performance artist alone and along side counter-culture notables Genesis P. Orridge, Timothy Leary, William Burroughs, Lydia Lunch and Lawrence Tierney. He was discovered in an art gallery by Mel Brooks, who put him in a commercial to promote his film 'Robin Hood Men In Tights'. This would lead to a lucrative career in commercials, including several award winners. Film roles include Bob Chin's Unnatural Acts, and Yuel Newsome's One Color System. Throughout the late 1990s he worked as a film critic for Los Angeles FM Talk Station KLSX and was known to millions of Los Angelinos as Flickhead on the Riki Rachtman Radio Show, and other 97.1 programs. He also worked as a booking agent for several independent films and companies including a stint at Troma, but declined an offer as West Coast VP. He is currently repped by Kazarian, Spencer and Associates but also works as film & memorabilia historian.
