Jack Mulcahy is a 12-time Award-Winning American actor, born and raised in New York City. Jack started in the entertainment business as a lead vocalist and guitarist for various popular rock 'n' roll bands; and experienced major successes with his first two films, Porky's (1981) and Porky's II: The Next Day (1983), Jack continued to appear in films and on television including Law & Order (1990); NYPD Blue (1993); Awakenings (1990); and Cadillac Man (1990). Jack got a good break in the spring of 1993 when he met director, Edward Burns, while the two played for the same team in the Central Park Softball League. They began discussing a story that Burns had started writing called The Brothers McMullen (1995) and Burns offered Jack the lead as the tortured and conflicted eldest brother, Jack. "McMullen" went on to become one of the most successful independent features in film history as well as garnering several illustrious awards (Grand Jury Prize for Best Picture of 1995 at Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival and Best Picture at the 1995 Deauxville Film Festival) and was the first acquisition of Fox Searchlight, the art-house division of 20th Century Fox. Jack has turned some of his attention to producing. One play he produced and starred in was called "PrimeTime". It opened the Off-Broadway Spring/Summer of 2006 season to glowing notices. Then, after a few seasons away, in the fall of 2010, he went back to the boards and starred in the Off Broadway showcase, Friction, again to packed houses a stellar reviews. After Friction, Jack went on a run of starring in five films, most promising among them a slacker comedy, "Stuck In The Middle", that took the 2012 festival circuit by storm, delighting audiences and garnering four-star reviews. In one review a critic wrote, "Jack Mulcahy, as Leo, steals every scene in this crowd pleasing comedy!" In 2012 Jack started his own film company, West End Kid Productions, that has four projects on its slate. Jack recently won a Best Actor Award for his hilarious portrayal of Lucifer in Joseph Pepitone's The Jersey Devil, releasing worldwide in October of 2015. Jack is active in several charity events and organizations such as The Jackie Robinson Foundation; The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Foundation; and the Mercy College Scholarship Foundation. An avid softball player and 14-handicap golfer, Jack is an all-around athlete. He graduated from the prestigious Stuyvesant High School in New York City at the age of 16 and has an IQ of 147. Jack is also a member of the NY Local Board of SAG-AFTRA and is the Vice-Chairman of both the SAGindie Film Committee and the National Low Budget Film Committee; member of the TV/Theatrical Negotiating Committee. Jack has been the Commissioner of the Performing Arts Softball League since 2005. Jack resides on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in the apartment that he has called home since birth.
