Tom Nesbitt

As a prominent young stage actor of his era, Tom Nesbitt appeared frequently in England as well as touring the U.S. with Margaret Lawrence, Katherine Cornell, Ruth Chatterton, etc. He married actress Mignon O'Doherty in London, England, which was his permanent address. They had two children: Prudence Nesbitt (Chapman) and Thomas Hunter Michael Nesbitt. Grandchildren = Vivian Nesbitt & Caroline Nesbitt, both actors. It was anticipated that Tom Nesbitt would have a successful film career, but he only made one film before he died in South Africa in 1927 while on tour, of a heart attack. He was 37 years old.
