Klaus Nierhoff is a German actor. He was born in Werl, North Rhine Westphalia, the son of Edith and Franz Nierhoff. His father was an official at the ministry of health. Nierhoff started acting in theatrical performances at school and university and took part in the "Theater of the World Festival" where he worked with Jerôme Savary and Robert Wilson. After finishing drama school he played repertoire in several German, Austrian, Swiss and Luxemburg theaters, playing in "Faust", "Leonce" in Büchners "Leonce and Lena", Kleists "Amphitryon", "Demetrius" and later "Theseus/Oberon" in Shakespeares "Midsummer Night's Dream", etc. and was in Musicals like "Fiddler on the roof", "The Wizard of Oz", "Knickerbocker Holiday" and "Rocky Horror Show". His favorite was "Beowulf", directed by Michael Bogdanov. During the 1990s, Nierhoff started appearing in television shows. With Judy Davis as lead he appeared in the CBS movie "One against the Wind" and in the NBC series "Jewels" he played by the side of Jürgen Prochnow. His most prominent roles were as a series regular in the German series "Lindenstraße", "Marienhof" and in the Belgian series "Hotel 13". A lot of episodes in series (SOKO, In aller Freundschaft) and roles in TV movies (Meine böse Freundin, Zwischen den Sternen) and movies (Happy End, Comedian Harmonists, De Buttek) followed. Klaus Nierhoff has continued regularly appearing in theatre, film, and television roles.
