Karen Numme

Karen Numme was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. She graduated from Harvard University, Parsons School of Design, and the University of New Mexico with a Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture degrees. After graduating she worked in the field of architecture for many years before becoming an actor. She was inspired to start her acting career after her 5lb. Yorkshire Terrier whom she trained, did a print campaign for Target, Her Yorkie, Shumi died just before the pandemic at 18yrs of age. The loss of her 4 legged family was heartbreaking. Her love of dogs motivated her to find another 5lb Yorkshire Terrier whom she treasures. A friend recommended that she take commercial acting classes which she loved so much that she added acting and improv classes and the rest is history. As an ex-New Yorker, she can do a great NYC and Eastern European accent as well as salsa dance and improv. As a mature adult, it is important to her that there are more roles for older women in film and television. Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda, Judi Dench inspire her to keep pursuing acting. Her other passion is black & white fine art photography. She has always been a visual artist and has exhibited her work in galleries and museums throughout the US.
