Kevin O'Brien

I've enjoyed 30 years of active work in preproduction design and storyboarding for animated films, television, and live action. Storyboarding with an emphasis on staging and the use of camera is my specialty. I'm often chosen for complex action scenes, although I'm an 'all around' board artist. My years on 'The Simpsons' were like an intense workshop on staging comedy. Proud to have been nominated for the Annie Award twice, for 'The Iron Giant' and 'The Incredibles', winning for 'The Incredibles'. I've taught interns at Pixar, lectured on my process to museum audiences, and recently contributed to the online 'Pixar in a Box' program. Gave recent lectures/workshops for Schoolism in Florence, Italy, and the Anima Mundi Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
