Sôichi Ôya was born on September 13, 1900 in Osaka, Japan. He was a writer and director, known for Chiheisen (1939), Korega Betonamu sensôda (1968) and Japan's Longest Day (1967). He was married to Masako Oya. He died on November 22, 1970.
