Etyen Mahçupyan is a Turkish journalist and writer who served as the senior adviser to Ahmet Davutoglu who is the former foreign minister and prime minister on behalf of the conservative Justice and Development Party (AKP). He wrote at Zaman Newspaper, which was the Islamic-conservative daily paper in Turkey. Then he continued writing his columns in Aksam, Sabah and Karar newspapers which all that is known to share political views in line with Ahmet Davutoglu. As a part of his senior advisory duty to Ahmet Davutoglu, he traveled and met with journalists, politicians and bureaucrats. Then he became one of the founders of a right-wing political party called Future Party with Ahmet Davutoglu, and he has been working with Davutoglu since then.
