Chris started his acting career at fifteen when he answered an open casting call for the Nickelodeon drama "Fifteen". Citing rain as the reason for attending the audition, Chris landed one of the lead roles and soon after was nominated for a Youth In Film Award for his portrayal of "Dylan" on the show. Martin signed with an agent and started working immediately in Vancouver on various TV movies and series. After being nominated for a Gemini (Canadian Emmy) for his work on his second series, "Madison", Chris moved to Toronto to film "Peter Benchley's Amazon" and shoot the independent feature "Johnny", which earned him a Jury Citation Award for his performance as a homeless kid living on the streets of Toronto. His feature debut was not missed by Hollywood, and Chris was soon after cast on "Felicity" as Kerri Russell's new love interest for the show's second season. Trying to find the right fit in Hollywood, Chris starred in a few pilots before setting his sights on Canada once again to star in and direct a new series for the CBC: Tom Stone. After two seasons of playing the title character, Chris returned to LA, this time to don a hospital gown and surgical mask opposite Treat Williams in "Heartland", which enjoyed a short run on TNT, and centered around transplant doctors in the OR. Chris currently lives in Los Angeles.
