Laurie McLay has been working in the Film and Television industry since 1988 on a multitude of projects including feature films, TV series, movies of the week, animation, music videos and commercials for the likes of Viacom, MTV, Showtime and HBO. Laurie began on the sets of "21 Jump Street" and "MacGyver", then assisted producers in series TV including Wes Craven's "Nightmare Café". This led to coordinating MOWs such as "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" and production managing the cult hit "The Ren & Stimpy Show" as well as music videos for the likes of Harry Connick Jr. and Sting. In 1997, she began producing projects for local and foreign companies from Toronto, London, Hong Kong, New York and Los Angeles. In 2005 Laurie was tapped to produce "Local Flavor with Joan Cusack" and in 2007 she acquired a slate of feature films including "The Praying Mantis" which was developed with the participation of Telefilm Canada. In 2010, Laurie ventured into lifestyle television with "The Four Coursemen" for the Cooking Channel, a nominee for the 2011 James Beard Award. Following that, she returned to independent films and produced the feature "Amber's Descent". With her unique experience in varied genres, Laurie is a producer, writer and creative consultant focusing on bringing entertaining and thought-provoking feature films to the screen.
