Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Vijay has made Toronto his home since 1995. He took a few acting courses in college and discovered a genuine love of acting on the stage and for the camera. This led to an acting job as a Star Trek alien -- Algar of the Ferengi -- which, in turn, led to his time at the renowned George Brown Theatre School. Fantastic acting opportunities soon followed: the role of the Puck, Robin Goodfellow in the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night's Dream, which toured across Ontario, Quebec, New York, Ohio and Texas; a radio play adaptation of Shyam Selvadurai's acclaimed novel Funny Boy, in which he played the lead, and was directed by legendary filmmaker Deepa Mehta; and a series regular on YTV's How to be Indie, in which he played the goofy and lovable dad for two seasons.
