Kate Meek or sometimes known as Meeks was born in New York in 1838, well-known stage star of comedy and drama from the early 1850's, perhaps her best known performances was in 'Too Much Johnson' at the Standard Theatre in 1894-95. Intelligent motherly white-haired lady who appeared in only two movies in 1915, the first she played the supporting role in a romantic/comedy 'David Harum' directed by Allan Dwan from a play by Edward Noyes Westcott, starring May Allison and Harold Lockwood for the Famous Players Film Company, followed by a drama 'The Builder of Bridges' directed by George Irving from a play by Alfred Sutro, starring C. Aubrey Smith at the Frohman Amusement Corporation. She died in New York age 87.
