Barbara Ricci

Barbara Ricci was raised in the Bronx, New York. She is the youngest of three children. Her father Frank D'Amico was born and raised in the Bronx, and was a World War II Veteran, and he supported his family driving dump trucks and later he became an official for the Teamster's Union Local 456 in Westchester County, until retiring after having a stroke in 1989; Barbara's mother, was a manager for RKO Proctors movie theaters, and she was great at what she did, and she loved her job; it was the prime of her life when she was struck down with crippling arthritis. Ironically, Barbara's parents died only seven months apart in the year 2000; while living in California with her brother Frank, who is an actor. The only thing substantial that Barbara inherited from her parents is her father's purple heart, and her mother's wedding ring, and their strong will to live. The siblings Frank D'Amico Jr., and his younger sister Barbara have always loved each other deeply, and they have always had a special unique bond, their closeness is like the one that twins share together. "My brother Frank D'Amico was one of the funniest comedians that ever lived." Frank passed away on June 1, 2008. Barbara has studied acting in New York City since she was 15 years old, and she has been writing since she was sixteen. Barbara tells stories about her life living in the Bronx, and Mount Vernon, she shares bits and pieces within her screenplays. Barbara is a workaholic and has won numerous awards for her work. She was a regular comedian at Stand up New York, and she gave it up to become a publisher for "The Westchester News". Barbara Ricci, has changed the way news is being told in New York! Barbara is an award winning documentary filmmaker, she makes people laugh, and she makes them cry, but most importantly she makes people think and understand that life is as is who we are inside. She taught an acting class in New York that teach actors how to find the character within them. She's tough, but she knows her stuff, and she teaches a powerful acting class. Actors have walked away knowing what that moment of greatness means. She's a great Director!
