Michael Riley was born in Nottingham, England. He is an award-winning film producer known for WW2 drama Chosen starring Harvey Keitel, critically acclaimed sailing biopic Crowhurst, multi award-winning The Seasoning House and Outlanders, cult favourites Vampire Diary and black comedy Lava. His urban drama Sugarhouse and romcom Loop both starred Andy Serkis. He is one of the youngest ever producers of a major BBC drama serial, the family saga In A Land Of Plenty. His fictional work includes Sundance competitor China's Wild West and Turner Prize installation Waiting for artist Zarina Bhimji. His production company Sterling Pictures, is a London and Bristol based feature film development and production outfit established in 1995.
