Musician David Robinson was born on April 2, 1953 in Boston, Massachusetts. David attended Woburn High School in Woburn, Massachusetts. Robinson was a member of the band, the Modern Lovers, from 1970 to 1973 and was briefly the drummer for the Boston punk group, DMZ, prior to becoming the drummer for the hugely popular, successful, and innovative New Wave pop-rock band, The Cars, in 1976. He remained a member of The Cars until the group broke up in 1988. When The Cars reformed as The New Cars in 2006, David refused to return as a member of the band. Robinson has since retired from music and now runs his own restaurant.
