Born in London, England and raised in Montreal, Françoise Robertson acquired a Health Sciences degree and then a Bachelor's of Commerce only to fall into a professional acting career by chance. While out one evening, she was approached by a casting director to audition for a regular role on a new "teenage soap opera" called Time of Your Life (1988). She landed that role and has gone on to a career spanning 30 years working in Montreal, Los Angeles and Vancouver. She has worked as a regular and/or recurring character in over 6 series, the latest being the White house Chief of Staff, Sarah Walker, in Supergirl (2015). She is most known for her portrayal of D'orothea Wilson in the Showtime miniseries More Tales of the City (1998), and it's sequel, Further Tales of the City (2001), starring Laura Linney and Olympia Dukakis. The series, which follows a controversial group of friends in 1970s San Francisco, was nominated for a Prime Time Emmy and three Gemini Awards. She has starred in multiple films, including the Award winning French film Shabbot Shalom (1994), guest appeared on a multitude of TV programs and has performed in over 20 commercials. She has studied with the famed Warren Robertson and Sandy Marshall & continues to practice her craft today.
