Born in Roseburg, Oregon. Daughter of a State Highway Department Agent and a High School secretary. The youngest of four children. She attended public school in Portland, Oregon, where she performed her first play. A blossoming creative artist, Wendy pursued painting as well as acting and singing in High School. At the University of Puget Sound, she continued her education where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. Nominated several times for the Irene Ryan Award. She performed "Miss Scoons" in the University's production of Sam Shepard's "Angel City", at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. She continued her education at Yale University, where she received her Masters Degree at the Yale School of Drama. Performing Jane Wagner's "Agnus Angst", at the Yale Cabaret, allowed her the opportunity to meet an idol, Lily Tomlin. Since Yale, she has appeared in many productions from off-off Broadway to regional equity. In Los Angeles, she played the title role of Horton Foote's "Laura Dennis" with Dale Dickey as "Velma" at the Zephyr Theatre. This West Coast Premiere was directed by Crystal Brian, noted Foote Scholar. Meeting Mr. Foote was an honor for Wendy. Her film career began with many student and independent films in NYC and LA, but her first notable film was as "Annie" in Jason Constantine short film, Ashes (1994) (aka "Ashes"), which won several prestigious awards. In 1998, she married writer Charles Evered. They are raising two children between Princeton, New Jersey and Los Angeles, California. Most recently, she introduced her children to her Running Funny (2007) co-star and their idol from The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984): Louis Zorich.
