Lachlan Ryan is an Australian director, writer and producer. Lachlan's most recent short, Dog Date Afternoon, is a family comedy premiering at Heartland's Indy Fest. Prior he co-wrote and directed the finale of Antisocial, a high-concept low-brow web series that amassed over ten million views online. He also directed the short Big City, which premiered at Melbourne International Film festival as part of the prestigious Accelerator Program. Described as "a triumph" by The Lowdown Under, the short went on to move hearts and minds at Tribeca, LA Shorts, Urbanworld, Austin Film Festival and Short Shorts Film Festival (Japan), where it was awarded Best International Actor. It also screened across Australia on ABC2 and iview. In addition to shorts, Lachlan has enjoyed hands-on experience working on feature films. At just 23 years of age he wrote, directed and produced a theatrically released sporting comedy, Reverse Runner, Executive Produced by Stephen Herek (director of Mr. Holland's Opus). During his time as Drama Development Manager at The Film Company, he Associate Produced the highly successful Australian family comedy Oddball, working closely with Practical Pictures' Craig Perry and Sheila Hanahan Taylor - renowned for the American Pie and Final Destination franchises. Previously he worked at WTFN Entertainment (one of Australia's largest independent production companies) as a Shooter-Producer on various television programs including National Geographic's highest rating show of 2015, Oddball: The Nature of a Movie. A Swinburne Film & TV (Honours) alumni, Lachlan won Best Director in both his Bachelor and Honours graduating years.
