Son of French actress Katia Lova, Papouf was deemed a prodigy, able to write and read French (a notoriously difficult language) before the age of 6. He did not attend school before he was 8. Upon chosing him for his feature movie 'Le Grand Chef', Henri Verneuil reportedly said he had been deeply impressed by the child's oustanding wit. His movie career came to an end as his mother retired to Switzerland on health ground in the early 1960s. He attended private school in Geneva, then university in the same city. Made a brief appearance in 1973 in French show-business as an author, composer and singer under the name of Brice (Eddie Barclay Record Company). In 1975 he married Italian beauty and aristocrat Monica Costa, who gave him a son, Terence (born 1976), a film music composer. Now lives in Canada.
