Herb Pedersen

Guitarist, banjo player, bluegrass musician, and singer/songwriter Herbert Joseph Pedersen was born on April 27, 1944 in Berkeley, California. Pedersen began his musical career in the early 1960's in his native Berkeley playing 5-string banjo and acoustic guitar for such people as Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, and Butch Waller. Among the many notable artists that Herb has played for and performed with throughout the years are John Denver, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill, Johnny Rivers, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, John Prine, Jackson Browne, Jennifer Warnes, Kris Kristofferson, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Gram Parsons, Dolly Parton, and Jesse Winchester. A member of the groups The Dillards, The Desert Rose Band, and The Laurel Canyon Ramblers, Pedersen frequently performs with his lifelong friend and fellow musician Chris Hillman. Herb lives in Southern California.
