His acting career began with theater and small roles in film and television. He gained recognition with a standout performance as the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in a crime biopic. His role in The Hurt Locker brought him significant acclaim, earning an Academy Award nomination and leading to his appointment as a United Nations Goodwill Peace Ambassador for mine-clearing efforts. Renner is also well-known for his work in action films and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly for his portrayal of Hawkeye. His involvement in major franchises such as Mission: Impossible and The Bourne Legacy further solidified his status as a leading actor. Beyond acting, Renner is a singer-songwriter with two rock music albums to his credit. In 2023, he premiered Rennervations, a reality TV series focused on renovating decommissioned vehicles for community use.
