Gilles is a French filmmaker, and an accomplished worldwide motion picture production, distribution and marketing executive with over 30 years of licensing, marketing, financing and distribution expertise. AAA is a brand wholly owned by him. He debuted in 1988 by collaborating on a co-production with China Film Group on Pan Yuliang (1996, Directed by Huang Shuqing, starring Gong Li), followed up with My 1919 (1999, Directed by Jian-zhong Huang). In 2018, China Film Group and AAA has signed two co-production agreements for the upcoming films Visa and The legend of Jin Ling. Over the last 20 years, among its library of 800 titles, AAA has acquired and released more than 100 Chinese films in French speaking parts of Europe. During the International Film Market Forum in April 2019, Gilles received a Chinese Award for his career as a Guest of National Cinema Manager Class. His writing, directing and producing career has included international co-productions and thriller indies like Resurrection (Directed by Russel Mulcahy), The Point Men (Directed by John Glenn), Darkweb and Cash (Best New Filmmaker at Toronto Canadian Diversity Film Festival (2016). He has produced as a showrunner and creative director three eSports TV programs in 2016 and 2017. Gilles has also served as the President of Studio Dudelange in Luxembourg, and is the Chairman of the Board of Classic Films in Luxembourg. Since 1995, he has been producing and providing local services to various international producers, allowing them access to Luxemburg and Belgian state subsidies through Dudelange. For his contribution to the Italian cinema, in 2008, Giorgio Napolitano (the former President of Italy) elevated Gilles to the Commander of Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, the highest Italian honor. For his contribution to the French culture, the French academic society Arts-Sciences-Lettres honored him with a Bronze medal.
