Nicholas van Hoogstraten produced the new musical The Fields of Ambrosia (Aldwych Theatre) and the benefit concert John Raitt - Broadway Legend (Prince of Wales Theatre), both in London's West End. He is the author of the book, Lost Broadway Theatres, the history of the great New York City playhouses of the past century, and the play On The Middle Watch:The Titanic Inquest (New 42nd Street Theatre). In 2000 he was commissioned by the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Foundation to create a play describing immigrants' journeys to America in the early 1900s. Now in its third season at Ellis Island, Embracing Freedom was performed over 2,000 times. Currently he produces for Broadway Television Network, having completed high-definition pay-per-view versions of the musicals Smokey Joe's Café, Putting It Together and Jekyll & Hyde.
