Petr Vanek was born in May 1979 in Nove mesto na Morave, in Czech Republic. He graduated in 2004 at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and since then he lives and works there. He appeared in several international features films and TV series such as: Last Holiday /directed by Wayne Wang/ as crazy lift boy Felipe, in Last Train /directed by Joseph Vismeier/ as Jew Manny Gerber , in Borgia /creator Tom Fontana/ as assassin Miguel de Corrella, in Crossing Lines / creator Edward Allen Bernero/ as supervisor Valko. One of his latest feature film is Child 44 /directed by Daniel Espinosa/, where he players Fyodor, an MGB agent, next to the actors such as Tom Hardy, Joel Kinnaman and Noomi Rapace. In upcoming short film Nosferatu in love /directed by Peter Straughan/ he plays gypsy guy Fonso - one of the main role, next to Mark Strong. Peter played wide range of roles in Czech movies: in comedy : Close to heaven with actors Tuva Novotny / directed by Dan Svatek/ illusionist Ernest , Women in temptation /directed by Jiri Vejdelek/ Tony, Aussig /directed by Tony Laue/- driver . in drama: Awarded history-war movie Tobruk /directed by Vaclav Marhoul/- Jewish private Jan Lieberman, Colette / directed by Milan Cieslar/- Sondercommaner Stein, There is no heaven /directed by Katarina Dedicova/ - physicist Antonin Kopecky . Among filming Petr plays theatre in various Czech theatre companies, his recent roles are: Carson - elusive director of research in Krakatit written by famous Czech novelist Karel Capek, the role of Heydrich - in theatrical spectacle Perak that combines elements of the martial arts with daring stunts and the poetics of original theatre with its characteristic wordplay about mythic superhero Pérák , in Men - physical theatre performance about 6 men on a journey to the wilderness. in Unicorn - one man show who's only character is egoist, man alienated, isolated, anxious, fearful and the viewer alternately evokes feelings of compassion, pity or resistance. An oppressive atmosphere of the game is alternately lightened comic moments. Outside of performing Petr loves sport, snowboarding, long boarding, surfing, swimming, horse riding, fencing and yoga. He also plays on accordion.
