A legendary Greek actor and left activist, Antonis Vlisidis was born (as Antonios Christopoulos) in Nafplio, Greece, on December 21st, 1951. He graduated from the Athens Conservatory Drama School under the teaching of Dimitris Myrat, Mitsos Ligizos, Grigoris Vafias, John Stephanelis and Iro Lambrou, among others. He worked for over 30 years in numerous Greek films, plays and TV series, and collaborated with directors such as Nikos Koundouros, Pantelis Voulgaris, Dionysis Grigoratos and Nikos Antonakos interpreting a wide range of characters in his exquisite performances. He was also a founding member of the Kesariani Theatre. His leftist beliefs combined with an unconditional love for his art has made him one of the most beloved performers of his time, and an inspiration to anyone who knew him. He passed away on May 5th, 2018 in Athens, Greece.
