Born in Geneva on October 4th 1960, Jean-Claude Vogel was passionate about the theatre as of an early age. At age 19, he even won a yearly fellowship which enabled him to study at the Conservatoire in Paris. Claude Régy, who was his teacher, later directed him a several plays. Primarily a stage actor, he also performed a few secondary parts in movies and TV. After retiring from acting for want of opportunities in the late 1990s he became a museum attendant at the Louvre. He was also the life companion of actress Solveig Dommartin during the last three years of her life, from 2004 to 2007.
