Aimee Patricia Walker was born totally deaf and completely blind in her right eye. In addition, she was born with hip dysplasia a condition in which her hips were not fully developed. At the time, doctors didn't give her much of a chance of having a normal life. She was told that she may never walk normal and that she would have cognitive impairments and delay. Aimee has fought through challenge after challenge, including multiple knee surgeries, a fractured ankle requiring reconstruction, shoulder, back, hip and wrist injuries. Throughout it all she maintained a positive attitude and truly has "No Excuses." In overcoming many obstacles, she rose to the level of International Elite, competed internationally and was in the 2000 Olympic Trials (US Classic) though suffered a severe knee injury. Fighting through this, she came back to compete on the UCLA gymnastics team, winning the NCAA national championship in 2004. Aimee finished her college gymnastics career competing for BYU and graduated with a degree in Recreational Management and Youth Leadership and was an Academic All American. Aimee had further opportunities appearing on television and in movies. She had several appearances in Baywatch and the made for TV movie "Little Girls in Pretty Boxes" as well as many others. Her story has been featured on Extra, Mountain West TV, and multiple other news outlets and media. Aimee has been speaking professionally for several years and loves to meet and inspire people to help them to feel and believe that anything is possible if they truly believe and work towards their goals. Aimee has been the keynote speaker for colleges/universities, schools, church groups, business organizations and at gymnastics facilities. Aimee is the mother of five children who are her entire life.
