Tamilee was born and grew up in Rio Dell, California. She and her brothers grew up on a ranch that had horses, cows, pigs and chickens. Instead of playing with dolls like little girls do, Tamilee kept herself busy in sports and sang in talent shows. She thought she'd grow up to be like country singer Shania Twain. She began doing bodybuilding competitions during the era when women really weren't into it. Tamilee began to teach fitness to other professional fitness instructors, which took her all over the world. This is how she began getting herself involved in charities for women, children and animals. Believe it or not, Tamilee even recorded a single called "Women of Steel". Then in the mid 1980s, she began with two exercise videos. In 1989, she did her first Buns of Steel video when a good friend recommended her for the job. Tamilee has sold more than 22 titles and has made over $10,000,000. She attended California State University in Chico, California. She has both a B.A. in physical education and a master's in exercise science.
