Derek Sherinian is an American keyboard player and composer, born on August 25, 1966 in Laguna Beach, California, USA. He was the keyboardist for progressive metal band Dream Theater from 1994 to 1999, and has played with bands and artists such as Alice Cooper, Steve Vai, KISS, Yngwie Malmsteen and Billy Idol. He also has an extensive solo career.
