Tony Sloman is a respected cinema critic and historian whose long career has encompassed many facets of film making. He has written a regular internet film column, "Sunset and Wardour", for the "International Movie Studio" and he has also contributed film criticism for the BBC weekly magazine "Radio Times". He once finished second on the BBC quiz programme "Film Buff of the Year". He served several terms as a Governor of the British Film Institute and programmed several retrospectives for the National Film Theatre in London. A long-time BFI member, who has entertained many audiences with a series of "Guardian Interviews" with many leading cinema figures such as Sir David Lean and Ann Miller.
