Matthew Solomon, named "Best Emerging Filmmaker" by the RIP Horror Film Festival 2015 and was born and raised on the mean streets of West Hollywood, California, where he attended Fairfax High School and majored in "Sneaking Off To Canter's For Lunch." He later attended the University of Southern California School of Music on a Studio/Jazz Guitar scholarship and began his journey in the music biz. Matthew played guitar and bass in several local bands and eventually crossed over into acting and then directing and writing for film and TV. His drive for social justice and equity resulted in his work providing conflict resolution for organizations in need. And, in early 2020 as the COVID-19 caused a shut-down in travel and in-person events, Matthew went back to school, earned a Master's in Public Administration degree, and directed the powerful and acclaimed documentary "Reimagining Safety." His talent for story-telling, and his deep desire for a world that works for everyone, resulted in his merger of film and advocacy. To date, "Reimagining Safety" has won several film festival awards and has been screening for various organizations around the world.
