William Takaku attended the National Art School. He quickly established himself along with other talented young people from all over the country.His first play was about 'Robinson Crusoe' (played by Norman Vaughton) begging 'Man Friday' to be forgiven his past wrongs, and to be allowed to be part of Friday's tribe. William later appeared in my production of John Kolia's play Going Finish, set in contemporary Port Moresby. In 1992,he directed and appeared in the television mini-series Warriors in Transit. As an actor, he co-starred as Man Friday alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Robinson Crusoe (1997) and he appeared as Magnus in the television miniseries The Violent Earth (1998).
