Award winning filmmaker and actor, who has performed on stage, film and television for over 30 years, with credits in productions such as; Neighbours, A Country Practice, The Secret Life Of Us, Crashburn, Blue Heelers, Stingers, City Homicide, Rush, Killing Time and Underbelly. Also an accomplished painter, King completed his Bachelor of Fine Art (major in painting) from the prestigious fine art school, The Victorian College of the Arts in 2006. Following art school, he found himself gravitating to the medium of filmmaking, relishing the opportunity to amalgamate both his performance and fine art skills. In 2013 King formed his production company White Cube Picture Lab with a mission to create intimate, avant-garde storytelling for the screen. Tending to work outside conventional filmmaking frameworks, King is a true maverick, often performing multiple roles on a single project from director, cinematographer, sound designer, editor and actor. He even designs the artwork for his films posters. Production multitasking, regular choices of stark and finite location settings, coupled with compelling and profound themes and characters, that have a strange habit of suffusing into an audiences psyche, have all lead to King's progression, as a new audacious and striking voice in the filmmaking community. King's highly acclaimed films have picked up distribution deals through companies such as Hewes Pictures, Flickerfest Distribution and Indieflix. His work has screened on national commercial television on the SBS network and has played at some of the world's most prestigious film festivals including Moscow, Cinequest, Bogota, Las Vegas, Flickerfest, Sao Paulo, Black Maria and New Orleans. Rolling Stone and Washington Post journalist Fillippo Venturi labeled 'Wild Will' "un piccolo capolavoro" - a small masterpiece. Respected French Cinema publication Ecran Noir named 'Wild Will' as a highlight of the 2019 Clermont Ferrand International Film Festival, and also went on to later list the film as one of their Top-Ten foreign short films for the year.
